Guna portrait - The Guna people of Panama and Colombia are a fascinating tribe with a long and rich history, they also produce some of the most visually impressive textile designs I have ever seen, they have a natural gift for the use of colour in surprising and striking combinations. This drawing is my way of studying some of these designs and traditions. In particular what I really liked are the traditional 'molas' - the fabric design which you can see covering the woman's midriff in the drawing.
This is a great gift option for those who love to travel in Latin America, Panama and Colombia, and for those interested in tradition and indigenous groups.

Textured off white paper 250gsm. FSC® certified board made up of 65% virgin fibres, 20% recycled material and 15% cotton fibres.
Thin matt black wooden picture frames (Made in UK) are available at an extra cost.

Image printed on Textured off white paper 250gsm - we like the feel of this paper type better as it works well with the textures applied to the image and gives a slightly softer feel. It resembles similar qualities to watercolour/artist sketchbook paper.
Solid wood black frame with real glass, available at extra cost, ready to hang.
The drawing was done based upon a photo. The original was black and white pen drawings and the background texture was made using watercolours, finally, both were merged digitally and colours added to create the final piece.
All prints are hand signed by the artist Benjamin Johnson.

A5 and A4 prints are supplied in sturdy board backed envelopes. A3 prints are supplied in a board backed plastic mailing bag. All frames are shipped in a sturdy cardboard box.
All UK orders above £7.50 are sent by courier with tracking, orders below are sent by Royal Mail 2nd class.
All International orders sent with tracking.
